“The Code of Conduct is one way we put Axie Infinity’s values into practice and we expect it to be honored by everyone who represents Axie officially or informally, claims affiliation with the project, or participates directly.”
Axie Infinity, a popular play-to-earn non-fungible token (NFT) game, published its Code of Conduct which “exists to ensure that everyone’s participation in our community results in mutual benefit and enjoyment.”
“Over the last couple of months, members of our community have developed the Axie Infinity Code of Conduct. The Code is the foundation of our community culture. It sets expectations for how we all treat each other. We hope and expect that everyone will follow these standards. Together, we should work to hold each other accountable to the Code, and ensure the community remains incredibly welcoming to all,” Paul, a new community lead for the game, wrote in a post.
In the said Code of Conduct, the developers promise to strive to create a “happy, supportive, agile, productive community” which embraces new ideas and perspectives, as they pursue to make more groundbreaking gaming innovations. To achieve even greater heights, they noted that “this is possible only when people with very different needs, interests and skills collaborate, respect, and encourage each other.“
“We will not accept any form of prejudice (religious, racial, class, national or gender-related) that could hinder the participation of individuals in the project. Respect for our community and for each other are foundational to our success, and are something we need to support every day,” the Code of Conduct stated.
Further, it specified seven things the community must strive for. First is to “be considerate,” they pointed out that “any behavior or decision affects those around us.” They also hope that the community members will “be respectful,” “be collaborative,” “value consensus,”and “take responsibility for our words and our actions.”
The Code of Conduct also reminds the community to “ask for help when unsure.”
“Asking questions early avoids many problems later, so questions are encouraged, though you may be directed to the appropriate forum. Those who are approached with a question should be responsive and helpful,” it states.
Lastly, maintaining a healthy community space is also highly encouraged by the code as “Axie Infinity prides itself on being a friendly and collaborative community. “
